Lisa Etterich is a German painter born in Dülmen, where she continues to live and work. She studied design at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster from 1971 to 1974 and later continued her artistic education at the Kunstschule Hamburg, the Kunstschule Zürich, and the Institut für bildende Kunst Bochum. From 1995 to 1998, she studied with Professor Dr. Yang, deepening her engagement with drawing, ink painting, observation, and East Asian artistic traditions.
Etterich’s practice moves between abstraction, landscape, material experimentation, and spiritual reflection. She deliberately avoids committing to a single fixed style and works with watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oil, collage, and mixed media. Her surfaces may be poured, sprayed, scraped, layered, or textured until forms reminiscent of caves, cities, geological formations, underwater worlds, or cosmic spaces emerge. Influences from Chinese and Japanese aesthetics meet a Western interest in expressive color and materiality. In her paintings, matter becomes a threshold between physical reality, memory, dreams, and metaphysical experience.
Among her most significant exhibition participations were international art fairs held between 2013 and 2017, including events in Monaco, Palm Beach, and Shanghai. Other important international presentations include the Pro Biennale project in Venice in 2015, “It Is All About Art – When Art Becomes Science” at Hamburg University of Technology in 2016, and “EuroVistas in Weiz” at Kunsthaus Weiz in Austria in 2024. She has also participated in Pashmin Art projects connecting European exhibition venues with institutions in Beijing and Chongqing.
In 2026, her work was presented in the exhibition “Muses of Modernity” at Kunsthaus Weiz. One of her works was also shown at the Art Center in Chongqing, China, and she participated in the exhibition “Seelenlandschaften” at the Museums of the Castle and Residence City of Greiz.
Lisa Etterich
其他重要的国际展览项目还包括2015年在威尼斯举行的“Pro Biennale”项目、2016年于汉堡工业大学举办的“It Is All About Art – When Art Becomes Science”展览,以及2024年在奥地利魏茨艺术馆举行的“EuroVistas in Weiz”。
