Magnus Lindblom, a Swedish artist, draws deep inspiration from his natural surroundings and his lifelong fascination with birds. Born and raised in southern Sweden, near the Baltic Sea, Lindblom’s early connection with nature has significantly influenced his artistic vision. His journey into art, however, was not linear. Although inspired by his grandfather’s oil paintings, Lindblom initially pursued a career in computer science, moving to Stockholm to work as an electronics engineer and software developer. It was during his time in Stockholm that he developed an interest in Asian culture, particularly Chinese calligraphy, which he studied under a master in the city.

In 1995, a transformative trip to China deepened his commitment to art, particularly Chinese painting techniques. However, it wasn’t until a personal crisis in 2004 that Lindblom fully immersed himself in painting as a form of rehabilitation. Discovering a renewed sense of creativity, he honed his skills in watercolor, inspired by artist Robert Wade, and later explored printmaking and acrylic pouring techniques.

Lindblom’s art, exhibited across Europe, reflects his philosophy of conveying hope and possibility, countering the often bleak narratives of mainstream media. His work aims to inspire others to connect with their inner visions and contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious world. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Lindblom also writes novels and tends a small allotment, finding balance in both visionary creativity and the grounding act of cultivation.
